Community rules

This is a translation. The Turkish text at mombridge.app/kurallar is the original and is the one that governs; where the two differ, the Turkish is what applies.
In most of the rooms here, people are talking during the most tired stretch of their lives. The rules exist for that: nobody comes here to be judged.
What follows is not a wish list — the moderation team bases its decisions on these, and every decision can be appealed.
What is expected
- Be kind. You may think differently; say so without belittling. Somebody's sleep routine, feeding decision or kind of birth is not a debate, it is her life.
- Tell your experience, do not write a prescription. The difference between "this is how it went for me" and "you should do this" can be a child's health.
- Leave the private private. Do not carry out what you read in a room; do not screenshot it and share it elsewhere.
- Ask if you are not sure. If you cannot say where a piece of information came from, do not pass it on as information.
- Report what you see. There is a report button beside every post, comment, message and profile. Reports are shown to nobody outside the team.
What is never allowed
1. Children's safety
No content that contains, praises, normalises or hints at the abuse of children. Images of children naked or partly naked — including bath time and nappy changes — may not be shared. There is no warning under this heading: the account is closed permanently and, where necessary, the authorities are notified.
2. Harassment, threats and bullying
Insults, humiliation, persistent unwanted contact, singling somebody out, ganging up, words implying death or violence. "It was a joke" does not undo it.
3. Hate speech and discrimination
Contempt or hostility on the grounds of religion, sect, ethnicity, language, home town, sexual orientation, disability, physical characteristics, financial situation or kind of motherhood. Comparing mothers is included: breastfeeding and not, vaginal birth and caesarean, working and not.
4. Privacy
Sharing somebody's address, telephone number, workplace, her child's school or her photograph without permission. Publishing private correspondence without the owner's permission. Exposing who somebody is when she does not want it.
5. False health information
Treatments without evidence, advice on drug doses, anti-vaccine steering, dangerous suggestions about feeding babies (honey, cow's milk, "hunger helps them sleep"). You may tell your experience; you may not intervene in somebody else's child.
6. Trade, spam and fraud
Selling and advertising in rooms without permission, chain messages, floods of links, fake campaigns, "investment" schemes and asking for money are forbidden.
Promoting another app and directing people to it falls under this heading too. Announcing your own app, channel, invite link or group elsewhere, and calling members over to it, is forbidden — in a post, a room, a direct message, your profile text or a listing. Sharing a resource that will be useful to a mother, in the flow of a conversation, is not this; what is meant is promotion aimed at moving the members here somewhere else.
7. Identity and verification
Opening an account in somebody else's name, impersonating a public figure or an institution, sending a document belonging to somebody else or an edited one to verification.
8. Sexual content
Obscene images and text, unwanted sexual messages, sexual advances. A photograph of breastfeeding is not obscene content and is allowed.
9. Self-harm
Content praising self-harm or suicide, describing methods, or encouraging either is removed. Somebody writing that she is struggling is not breaking a rule — our response to her is support. If you are feeling bad, in Türkiye 112 and the Ministry of Family and Social Services line 183 are open around the clock.
10. Illegal content
Trade in drugs, weapons or prescription medicines; sale of contraband; copyright infringement; promotion of illegal services.
Rooms and meet-ups
- If you opened a room, the culture of that room is your responsibility: you can warn messages that go off topic or push at the rules, and remove a member.
- Official channels are run by the team; announcements there are the product's own voice.
- If you are creating a meet-up, write the place and the time correctly. Suggest crowded, open places; do not share somebody's home as the address.
What happens
| Situation | Consequence |
|---|---|
| A first, mild breach | The content is removed and a warning is sent |
| A repeated breach | The account is suspended temporarily |
| A serious breach (children's safety, threats, fraud, false verification) | The account is closed permanently |
| Suspicion of a crime | The authorities are notified |
The reason for every decision is written down and every decision can be appealed. Somebody on the moderation team reads the appeal and tells you the decision.
Reporting something
In the app you can report from the ••• menu beside any content. If there is an emergency, write to destek@mombridge.app with "urgent" in the message; the team reads that inbox.
