If something has gone wrong, if something is unclear, or if you want to report an account, there is one address: destek@mombridge.app. We answer questions within one working day at the latest. Reports made from the app go into a separate queue and a moderator reads them; anything about safety is looked at the same day.
Motherhood verification
Why do you ask for a photograph?
MomBridge is a closed community: knowing that everybody talking here really is a mother is the only reason people can write on a sleepless night. Verification exists for that — not to prove your identity, but so that the people here know who they are talking to.
The app asks for one photograph with your face in it — with your child if you like, or on your own. You do not have to show any identity document; we do not ask for one. You take the photograph there and then with the front camera; it cannot be chosen from your library.
Before the camera opens you read what will happen, and you cannot send it without ticking a separate consent box: the photograph is published nowhere, only the reviewing moderator sees it, and it is deleted the moment the decision is made. On upload, the photograph's location and device information (EXIF) is stripped.
Who sees the photograph?
Only an authorised moderator, from a screen that requires verification. The file is kept in a separate directory that no file server looks at; it cannot be opened by guessing or sharing the address. It is not reachable from the internet at any point.
Is it deleted after approval?
Yes — it is deleted the moment the decision is made, approved or refused alike. The record goes from the database and the file from the disk. The only thing that remains is the decision itself: who made which decision, and when. The photograph had one job and that job is done.
The one exception is "more information needed": if you have been asked for a new photograph, the first stays until that decision so the moderator can compare the two.
And if a decision is never made? It does not stay then either. If an application is forgotten in review, or more information is asked for and no new document is sent, the document is deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest. Your account stays where it is — if you want to apply again, a new photograph is asked for.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
From inside the app: Settings › Account › Delete my account. You type your username and confirm, and that is all. You do not have to write to us, fill in a form or wait for an approval.
- Your profile and your content become invisible at once and your open sessions end.
- If you sign in again within 30 days your account comes back as it was. That period exists only so you can change your mind.
- When the thirty days are up the account is deleted automatically and permanently: your record goes from the database, and your posts, your meet-ups, the rooms you opened and the photographs you uploaded go with it.
The detail is in section 9 of the privacy policy.
Why can nobody under 18 join?
A date of birth is asked for during sign-up and accounts under 18 are not opened. This is not a tick box; it is a rule the server enforces.
Safety and moderation
I saw content or a person that troubled me.
Every post, comment, message and profile has Report in its own menu. Reports go into the moderator queue and are looked at within 24 hours. From the same menu you can block the person: somebody you have blocked cannot see you in rooms, cannot write to you, and her posts become invisible to you.
If there is an emergency, write to destek@mombridge.app — putting "urgent" in the subject is enough.
I think a decision was wrong.
You can appeal every moderation decision from inside the app. Somebody on the team reads the appeal and tells you the decision. The rules and the sanctions are written in the community rules.
